　　亚琛工业大学（简称RWTH Aachen）位于北莱茵-威斯特法伦州，是德国最负盛名的理工科大学之一，也是世界顶尖理工科大学之一。
　　亚琛工业大学成立于1870年，当时成立的宗旨在于促进手工业与经济的发展。亚琛工业大学自成立以来，不断开拓理工科目新领域。亚琛工业大学理工科实力强劲，电子、机械制造、冶金工程方面排名一直名列德国第一，计算机、建筑、物理等学科也在德国大学排行榜上位列三甲。
　　2005年，据德国《焦点周刊》的大学排名，亚琛工业大学再次蝉联德国工科大学的排名首位。排名得分从9个方面进行考察，其中包括师生比例、学习时间、第三方资助率、读博比例、科研成果等。在电气工程学专业方面，亚琛工业大学以69分的得分排名第一。在机械制造专业，亚琛工业大学的得分（76分）也远远领先其他学校。建筑工程专业排名第二 。一流的教育水平造就了一流的学校，现在许多外国著名公司如爱立信、福特、飞利浦、联合科技等都在亚琛建立了分部，三菱也在亚琛附近建立了它的欧洲半导体中心以吸收人才，微软的德国研究院也设在亚琛。
